After suffering a season-ending Achilles injury one week ago vs. the Los Angeles Lakers, the Portland Trail Blazers have applied for a disabled player exception for Rodney Hood. A disabled player exception allows a team over the salary cap to acquire a replacement for someone who's been ruled out for a given season. The maximum salary of the replacement player will either be 50% of the injured player's salary or the non-taxpayer mid-level exception.
